On the 50′s, Jack Kerouac wrote a book called On the road. It was written in 1951 and published six years later in 1957 by Viking Press. This book is considered a defining work of “Beat Moviment” which described a novel related with poetry, jazz and drug experiences. The main characters are Sal Paradise (teller) and Dean Moriarty, the best friend of Sal. They represented a new generation called “Beat” and they changed the behaviour of new groups over the years, as hippies, punks and others. The real name of Dean was Neal Cassady, but he was best known for being characterized by Dean Moriarty in this book.

See on youtube an interview in 1959 with Jack Kerouac. In this video, he explains his amazing book. As you can see, when the interview had been realized, the man was interviewing and playing jazz in the same time. Fantastic.
